International Fateh Academy celebrated its IInd Fateh Holla Mohalla Sports Day on 4th and 5th March, 2010. The event began with Prakash of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Baba Sewa Singh from Khadur Sahib was the Chief guest on 4th March. The students sang shabads and dhadi waran. Baba Sewa Singh Ji gave his blessings to students and appreciated the work done by S.Jagbir Singh, Chariman of IFA for his service to humanity.
The Final event was held on March 5th 2010. The school play ground wore a festive look with colourful flags. The Sports day began with the lighting of the torch by the Chairman. S. Jagbir Singh and this was carried in relay by the Captains of the 4 houses and installed by the Chairman in the torch stand. The International Fateh Academy flag was hoisted by Chairman S. Jagbir Singh, Vice Chairperson Mrs. Ravinder Kaur and Principal Mrs. Rajinder Kaur. The Sports meet was declared open by the Chairman by releasing balloons with IFA tag. Sports events began with March past by the students of 4 houses i.e. House of Canada, House of America, House of Australia and House of Hong Kong.
The inaugural address by the Chairman S. Jagbir Singh and welcome speech by Vice Chairperson Mrs. Ravinder Kaur were given. A match of soccer was played. Karate and Gatka performances was presented, tug of war of boys and girls and games by parents and teachers were played.
Prizes were given to the students for their excellent performance in academic and sports. The function was closed with a vote of thanks.
The Chief Guest S. Dalbir Singh, MLA Verka, congratulated the students on this occasion and inaugurated the Wi-Fi system in the school expressing hope that the school flourishes to greater heights.
The Guest of Honour were Gopal Singh Zania, Member SGPC, Tejinder Singh Happy, Kashmir Singh International Kabaddi Coach.
The fete was also organized in which food stalls and various exciting games like lucky dip, ringing the parcel, bursting the balloons, inserting coins in the bucket etc. were organized. |
