The 4th Annual Function of International Fateh Academy was celebrated on Monday, Nov 28, 2011 on its aesthetically illuminated grounds. Based on the theme ‘Panorama of Life’ the students showcased their talent while presenting items depicting life in all its hues. Female feticide, discrimination against girls, stages of life-childhood, youth and old age and the diversity of India were very well presented by students to convey to the spectators that life should be lived with zest & enthusiasm taking within one’s stride the joys and sorrows, ups and downs, failure and success, for every experience that we gain (bitter/sour/sweet) is designed to make us stronger. Depicting idiosyncrasies of politicians and the apathy of the public and public servants in general, the play ‘Toya’ (pit) was beautifully dramatized by the junior students of IFA. The folk dances, Giddha and Bhangra highlighted the rich vibrant culture of Punjab while ‘Gatka’ (martial art) and modelling by the Sikh Boys stole the show sending out a loud & clear message that Sikhs with ‘saabat soorat’ are no more a butt of ridicule but hold high posts and are honoured & respected in society. Pages of Sikh History were revisited in a poignant potrayal a of Sikh in fetters refusing to be released at the behest of his mother’s false claim of being a non-sikh.
